A way to booming career

About Gate

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is an all –india examination conducted by IISc and seven IITs. It is conducted by the national co-ordination Board, GATE, Department of higher education, Ministry of human resource development, Govt of India. The score is used for admissions to various post-graduate programs (e.g. Master of Engineering, Master of Technology, Doctor of Philosophy) in Indian higher education institutes, with financial assistance provided by MHRD and other government agencies. Recently, GATE scores are also being used by several Indian public sector undertakings (i.e., government-owned companies) for recruiting graduate engineers in entry-level positions. It is one of the most competitive examinations in India.

In the current circumstances, we know that there is a huge mass of B.E/B.Tech graduates passing out. So to stand different in a crowd you must be holding something extra in your hands, else you will simply loose yourself in the crowd. Also, due to this large number of emerging universities and colleges, it is quite a difficult task to evaluate the qualified ones.So the only solution to this problem of measuring and examining the quality of a student is the GATE exam.Of course, there are a lot of misconceptions regarding GATE among the students that it is completely meant ME/MTech, which finally ends in a teaching career.

In this present scenario, the advantages regarding GATE examination will be worthy of it. Many public sector undertakings such as BHEL, IOC,NTPC,BARC etc (around 217 PSU’s in number) are using GATE score for selecting candidates for their organizations. Students who qualify in GATE are provided a stipend of Rs.8000 per month during their M.Tech course.Better remuneration is offered for students of M.Tech/ME as compared to those pursuing B.tech/BE.A good gate rank assures a good job. After joining IIT and IISc one can look at a salary package ranging from Rs. 7 lakh to 30 lakh per annum, depending upon specialization and performance.

GATE also gives you a chance when it comes to joining reputed companies as well as off campus recruitments. If your dream of IIT was far, GATE provides you a better opportunity to fulfill your IIT dreams.GATE is also an eligibility factor for the award of Junior Reasearch Fellowship in CSIR laboratories. MTech degree is a must for those who are interested in research positions in R & D centers.Apart from all these Gates always place you one step ahead from others in all aspects.
